2013. The figure below shows that 2013 was a great year in terms
of the ÖzÜ sponsored research activities as the cumulative funding
nearly doubled from 11.5 million TL to 21 million TL

RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS OF 2013
As we end another year, we are pleased to share the last issue
of InTTOuch for 2013. Here you will find a generous collection
of highlights this year and a snapshot of the summary on main
achievements hitherto since ÖzÜ TTO received the funding support
under TUBITAK 1513 TTO Support Program.
In terms of sponsored research activities at ÖzÜ, 18 new national
project proposals (13 from TÜBİTAK and 5 from SANTEZ); 14
international projects and 11 university –industry collaboration
projects are selected for funding with a total budget of 9.4 Million
TL, doubling the total funding budget in 2012.
In addition to project activities, ÖZÜ TTO coordinated the patent
applications of the faculty of which 4 of them are national and 3
of them are international patent applications. In cooperation with
OzU Fit Startup Factory, 3 startup companies owned by our faculty
members were established in 2013. Such outcomes state that
ÖzÜ faculty’s research capacity is well translated in innovation and
entrepreneurial activities as well as R&D activities.
It is our pleasure to have reaped the efforts of the first year together
with ÖzÜ faculty and gives us hope and strength for the upcoming
years of ÖzÜ TTO.

In terms of the funding received by the ÖzÜ Faculties in
2013, ÖzÜ Faculty of Engineering received 82 % of the total
sponsored research budget with more than 7,5 M. TL. Center
for Computational Finance, Center for Energy, Environment and
Economy, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences,
Faculty of Arts and Sciences follow in order of the size of funding
received.
