Director’s Note
It is our great pleasure to share the first issue of “TTO Newsletter - InTTOuch”, which will be published
bi-monthly by Özyeğin University Technology Transfer Office (ÖzÜTTO). The newsletters will, hopefully,
play a prominent role to provide the opportunity to communicate with each other among all the ÖzÜ
family as well as external community. In each issue, we will focus on a special funding opportunity topic;
share success stories and publish upcoming call deadlines and events. We hope that InTTOuch will
become your main source for information about funding opportunities, best practices, successes and
learning, upcoming events, new resources and more.
As you already know, ÖzÜ ranks among the nation’s leading research universities, a place
where outstanding faculty, staff, and students come together to further the pursuit of scientific
understanding and innovation. In 2012 and 2013, ÖzÜ ranked in the top 10 universities based on the
“Entrepreneurship and Innovation Index” published by Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology.
This success led us to get the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) support of 10 million for 10 years from TÜBİTAK and is a tremendous
affirmation that our efforts to build an “entrepreneurial research university” are succeeding.
ÖzÜ Technology Transfer Office’s mission is to encourage that innovation, enhance sponsored research and facilitate economic
development through the effective management and transfer of ÖzÜ technologies and intellectual property. Our focus is to ensure the
results of the outstanding research at ÖzÜ are successfully transferred outside the University to drive national economic growth and
benefit the general public. We continue to strive to be a valuable player to both the campus and external community. Whether you are
a faculty member thinking of applying a research grant and/or disclosing to our office or a company looking for opportunities to partner
with us, we look forward to working with you. It is our hope that this newsletter helps connect all of us in our work and strengthens us
along the way.
