Afternoon of Scottish Tunes !
Last month the Music Department hosted a Scottish Afternoon to help raise funds towards their trip to Spain in June . We had over 60 guests attending , including parents , members of the Rotary Club and several residents of Sun Court Nursing Home .
As always , the young people were fantastic and gave rousing performances of some Scottish favourites . Our guests were treated to refreshments courtesy of the S3 Barista team as well as some Scottish treats .
Thanks to the department for putting on another great show .
We have 46 students attending the trip and during their time , they will perform three concerts in and around Barcelona .
Humanutopia Workshops
The recent Humanutopia workshops for S3 and S4 were a real success . Both year groups were engaged in the discussions and activities and commented positively about the presenter , Stevie , and hearing about his life experiences .
Relationships are the key theme for the day and there were some very powerful messages coming from session – especially from students who had the courage and confidence to share their experience with the year group .
We have received many positive messages from parents and staff and hope to be able to fund further workshops in the future . Thanks to Mr Reid for organising the workshops and to everyone who helped out on the day .
