a “celebrity” classmate and ask them about their
favourite food if they were learning the WH-
questions. As I said before, it’s important to give
the activities a real-life context so as to make it
more interesting and relatable. There should also
be some flexibility in the activities to cater to stu-
dents’ different interests and skills. Some learn
better when they do something hands-on, some
learn better when they communicate orally. This
is more effective than just having them sit down
in the classroom and simply do worksheets.
