FEATURED IT OF THE MONTH Hanna Bilińska | Poland Hanna was born in Wrocław, Poland, and completed a degree in Media and Cultural Studies in London and a diploma in Consecu- tive Translation and Interpreting in Poland. She enjoys listening to rock music, going for film festivals and practising yoga. Her passion for travelling was one of the main factors that drove her to come to Hong Kong. 01 Hanna spent 3 months volunteering in a Breast Cancer Awareness Proj- ect in Egypt and 5 months on an ex- change programme in Greece. So far, she has been to 30 countries, includ- ing Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. 02 Hanna has been a vegetarian for over 10 years. She does not like to explain how she’s getting enough protein, but she’d be happy to share her favourite vegan brownie recipe. 01 01 03 As a child, Hanna trained in ballet and performed in Swan Lake in a lo- cal opera house. Although she does not dance anymore, she still keeps her first ballet flats. 04 Hanna’s favourite sport is hiking. On the weekends you can often see her venturing the trails of Hong Kong. 05 Going to the Mount Everest base camp is one of the major items on her bucket list. So far, the highest moun- tain she has climbed is Fansipan Mountain in North Vietnam. 04 05 06 Hanna likes sipping black coffee and reading books. The authors who had the most profound impact on her are William Shakespeare, Naomi Klein and Vladimir Nabokov. 07 Other possible ways of calling her name include “Hania”, “Hanka”, “Hanusia” and “Haneczka”. 3 APRIL 2018
