CHRISTMAS NARRATION
Christmas Eve
December is one of the most beautiful months of the year because we spend time with our family gathering together and sharing the best company; We wish Christmas because it is the day where adults remember their childhood and children have in mind the best memories for their future.
Indeed, the festivities are celebrated in different ways, it depends on the place where you live, this time I will tell you a little about how we live the holidays in Veracruz.
December 24th is the most important day for children in my family, because they are waiting for their desired toys and the delicious Christmas Eve dinner, in Veracruz you cannot miss the famous enchilada leg it could be sweet or spacy, and for trimming some delicious red spaghetti. In my house we added a little more chili to make it more exquisite, for the dessert a delicate fruit salad with a taste of rompope, for drink we prepare fruit punch, for adults some tequila, some flavor water and other drinks. The dinner is important but not as essential as attending a family Mass, nothing more pleasant that feeling the God’s love, being with our holly virgin Mary and her husband Joseph to celebrate the birth of the King of Heaven and our beloved child Jesus.
A HAPPY NEW YEAR WITH MY FAMILY
On December 31st the traditions and manners in my family are: first we go to hear the Mass, then we go to grandmother's house, she's my father's mother. Every one brings some food to share for dinner like a buffet. After the dinner, all my family dance, we usually dance in the street. We wait happily the New year, so we prepare the twelve grapes and the Cider and just one minute before twelve o'clock, we began to eat the grapes and pray for a new year full of blessings. The next day we go to visit our mother's parents, our lovely grandparents and we have a buffet lunch. We gather together. I love our traditions.
