SOUTHERN INDIANA — The team at River Heritage Conservancy is prepared to lead Origin Park into exciting phases of development .
The nonprofit is creating a 430-acre park along Clarksville ' s riverfront , a project that will transform the natural landscape , offer new recreational opportunities and establish a regional destination .
River Heritage Conservancy recently hired new leadership , including CEO Dennis Schnurbusch II ( left ) and Director of Park Operations Kevin Beck ( center ).
" As we look to the future , we ' re trying to lay a very strong foundation for the rapid growth we ' re expecting over the next few years ," Schnurbusch said .
Susan Rademacher ( above right ), formerly River Heritage Conservancy ' s executive director , is beginning a new role as the park curator . Her focus will be the design and planning of Origin Park .
" My role will be to participate in design sessions and to advise and make recommendations on design as we ' re moving through the construction ," she said .
Rademacher said Schnurbusch brings the " entrepreneurial leadership and longtime vision " needed to make Origin Park a reality . The new CEO has a background in tourism and hospitality , and he worked as senior vice president and chief operating officer for Omaha ’ s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium since 2018 .
