By asking Martha Page, a peer from our generation how social media has effected her and our generation and she replied with “in my opinion my generation is far too reliant on

social media. They fail to see that there is a world beyond the screens and that not everything that’s on social media is the truth."

I also asked my grandfather, who didn’t grow up with technology and asked how it was before having social media and tech, he replied with “communication was slow, we’d have to rely on books from libraries to collect information, and there would constantly be a time lag between publishing, everything was so much harder before we were introduced to the internet. Nowadays, it’s a case of googling and it’s so much easier to communicate”.

Lastly, I asked Mr Wicks, a teacher of ICT whether or not he likes technology and he replied with “Technology is our future, and without it I’d be unemployed right now, I believe that technology is good.”

.

To conclude, it seems that technology is good to use however, we should use it sensibly. Having gone over all the information provided, it’s pretty safe to say that social media is most definitely addictive and given the way the apps are developing, there’s little chance of us becoming less addictive in the future.
