Table 5-12 shows cost-burden households by tenure for Newport, Westerly, and the State of Rhode Island as a whole.
Overall, Newport has a higher percentage of cost-burden households below 30% of their median household income.
However, compared to the state of Rhode Island as a whole, Newport homeowners are more susceptible to become
cost burden, potentially due to their much greater home values.
