Now home to the Museum of Newport History, the old Brick Market building
used to function as a marketplace on its ground floor while hosting a variety of
uses on its second and third floors.
Fort Adams

Now a State owned park, Fort Adams was once a strategically built military
base tasked with the job of preventing enemy forces from entering
Narragansett Bay.
The original building was built as the Newport Asylum for the poor, built in 1822
on Coasters Island. The City and State later decided to donate the island to the
U.S. Navy in 1882 for the Naval War College. The building now serves as the
Naval War College Museum
Kingscote

Designed by Richard Upjohn in 1839, Kingscote is a landmark of Gothic
Revival architectural style. The house was left to the Preservation Society of
Newport County by the second family that owned Kingscote, the King family.
