Thompson House
This historic Thompson House – located at 300 S . College Ave . – was built in 1882 by Dr . Joseph M . Thompson , a Cherokee physician . The two-story house is built in the Queen Anne Carpenter Gothic architectural style and is available for weddings , special occasions , tours and other opportunities via appointment . Summer Activities Tahlequatics
Part of the Anthis-Brennan Sports Complex on West Allen Road , Tahlequatics opens for the season in May and features two water slides , a toddler area , swimming lanes upon request , open pool area , two diving boards , concessions , on-duty lifeguards and more . Splash Pad
The Tahlequah Splash Pad opened in 2014 and is located on the corner of Water Avenue and Downing Street . The splash pad is user-activated and offers several different water features and sprayers to help visitors cool down in the summer heat .

Illinois River Floating Operations
The waters and banks of the scenic Illinois River provide numerous opportunities for recreation , especially during the summer season , like canoeing , kayaking , rafting , and camping .
