A few minutes northwest of downtown New Richmond you will find the second busiest general aviation airport in the state of Wisconsin. About 175 aircraft are based at privately owned hangers. Eight aviation-related businesses are located on the sprawling complex that serves the eastern Twin Cities metro and western Wisconsin. The airport contributes nearly 10 million dollars annually to the local economy. Founded in 1957, this 3 / 8 mile high banked oval track is one of the finest in the Midwest, drawing some of the region’ s best short track drivers each weekend during the summer months. Thousands flock to the grounds a few miles northwest of the City of New Richmond to see up to 120 drivers compete in a setting that includes indoor and outdoor seating, skyboxes, and camping opportunities. The track hosts many nationally sanctioned and premier racing events and often hosts special corporate events at the track.
