I think we may have driven the other guys a bit mad at times. Another funny story shows how modest and sort of matter-of- fact Adam was in the way he ap- proached conversations about things that seemed a bigger deal to me. He called me in 1996 and asked if I’d be interested in au- ditioning for his friend James’ band because their drummer had just been kicked out. He said he told the band about me and that I might be perfect for drumming duties with them. Well, eventually during the call it comes out of him the ex-drummer is Jimmy Cham- berlin, his friend is James Iha, and the band is Smashing Pumpkins! Adam was simply so very humble, the way that call unfolded has al- ways cracked me up. On Adam’s passing - Incredibly saddened. It seemed entirely un- real. His passing brought so many memories back to me and and the other guys from The Red House.
