Recording - Adam was a full mem-
ber of the band as we prepared
demos for our never released fol-
low up record. He and I would
share keyboard duties, although
more often than not, I would have
him play the keys because he was
better than me. We recorded (at
my apartment) a demo version
of a whole album, which Adam
played and sang backups on. After
SBK “didn’t hear a hit”, we went to
Memphis to record more demos
at Ardent Studios. Bandmate Ron
remembers this humorous thing:
“Remember when we made Adam
sleep on the Memphis band house
sofa ‘cause he wasn’t in the video
and all the beds were taken? I
don’t regret that - that sofa was re-
ally uncomfortable.”
A funny thing during these Mem-
phis sessions was Adam and I try-
ing to teach John Hampton (the
Ardent producer/engineer and an-
other great guy RIP) how to speak
yiddish, and then making fun of
how yiddish sounds with a south-
ern drawl.
That week in Memphis was loads
