Nonqaba "Noni" Stamper
Hi everyone, I’m Nonqaba aka Noni. I was unemployed for over a year when I decided to be proactive about my job hunting. I (like many others) got on a bus to Joburg to find my destiny. I was never afraid, just anxious. I asked myself many questions before I went to bed at night: Why did I come here, will I find a job and will I make it?
Over the past year I’ve found more than just a job, I also found my purpose. My road hasn’t been unbearably rocky or horrific, because I found fantastic individuals who have helped me along the way. Fundbabies would not exist had it not been for Annabel Dallamore (Founder and CEO of the Stock Shop) and Lawrence Joffe (CTO of the Stock Shop). These two amazing people found me working at a canteen trying to strategize my life’s plan. They offered me an opportunity I couldn’t afford to turn down. It is because of them that I have had the freedom to explore and grow FundBabies to what it is becoming. I could never forget my mentor Samke Ngwenya who asked me a life changing question, “And then what?” Go ahead ask yourself that question and see what happens. I also can't forget to thank my friend Lindi, who came on board to help me out with FundBabies. She has truly been more than a friend throughout this whole process.
Other than that stuff, I’m just an average girl. I love to eat and laugh. I simultaneously love and hate people. I’m an extrovert and an introvert. I can laugh and cry all in the same song. I am a walking contradiction. I am a nerd. I love it when my desk is tidy, but my room needs to be a little messy. I have been told that I look like I have my shit together, but I don’t. Many wonderful things happen every day and I try to notice them all. I also count stairs and tiles.
