Under 20 colts plate finalist 2013
There were plenty of challenges for the management and players to get this newly formed
team off the ground. Preseason preparation was limited due to a lack of players but with the
injection of players coming off summer sports and the arrival of the Tasman boys the team
started to take shape.
Even after some the early first round losses, the boys were starting to show signs of the
New Brighton never say die attitude. Towards the end of the first round, the team started an
unbeaten run of 8 games. During this period the team scored some remarkable tries and
played a brand of rugby that all the team should be proud of. As coaches we have admired the
improved development of all players and their contributions to the team effort. By the end of
the season this team had gained the respect it deserved.
In summary Bill Mike and Slip have been proud to work with this team and help the boys
reconnect with New Brighton club rugby.
