FROM THE DESIGNER:“ In the heart of downtown Taunton, Massachusetts, stands one of the city’ s most recognizable historic structures: the Taunton Flatiron Building. Built circa 1880, the distinctive triangular building has long been a fixture of the downtown streetscape, its unique shape reflecting the character and history of a city that once thrived as an industrial and commercial hub. Over the past century and a half, the building has served many purposes and housed a variety of businesses that mirrored the changing life of the city around it.
Today, the landmark is entering an exciting new chapter. A local real estate entrepreneur has undertaken a comprehensive restoration and renovation that blends historic preservation with modern design. The project has involved an extraordinary level of transformation. A completely new foundation was poured, and the interior was rebuilt from the ground up with new framing, updated infrastructure and entirely modern systems. The renovation also includes the addition of a full fourth floor, expanding the building’ s footprint while maintaining its historic architectural presence.
The upper levels are being reimagined as three high-end residential apartments occupying the second, third and newly constructed fourth floors. Each residence has been carefully designed to combine contemporary comfort with the charm of the historic structure.
The first floor will soon welcome a beautiful new bistro, bringing fresh energy and streetlevel activity back to the building. Scheduled to open in summer 2026, the restaurant will create a lively gathering place in the center of downtown.

A newly added fourth floor rises above the historic base. RIGHT: Farrow & Ball Lotus wallpaper adds a bold pattern beside preserved original brick, while glossy black subway tile lines the bathroom walls. The combination creates a rich, layered space that feels both timeless and contemporary.
