FROM THE DESIGNER : “ When this new construction project began , the homeowners were unsure how they wanted to use this space . They considered a home office , but we quickly realized that this room would be better utilized as a place for gathering . We developed a lounge concept — consisting of a blue and blush color palette with gold accents — and they were on board . We saw it as a way to bring our clients ’ vibrant personalities to life and marry it with their love of entertaining . To maximize its function , we incorporated six plush swivel chairs , a built-in with two wine fridges ( allowing perfect temps for both reds and whites ), an ice maker and enough storage for glassware and other bar accessories . Just beyond the blue doors is the kitchen and butler ’ s pantry , and there is an attached powder room in the left corner ( not pictured ). The homeowners wanted a design that was different from any of their previous homes : something bold yet timeless , sophisticated yet fun and unique . They got it all !”
