DESIGN & DECOR ROOMS TO LOVE Light and Airy Blakely Interior Design refreshes this living area with a bright, coastal vibe and easy entertaining elements. PHOTO GR APH BY ANDRE A PIETR ANGELI F R O M T H E D E S I G N E R : “Upon returning to Rhode Island after many years out of state, our clients wanted us to design a space in their water-view Warwick home with a coastal vibe that would be practical for both entertaining and everyday use. While the vaulted ceiling and beams offered a structurally open feeling, the dark stone fireplace and brown tile floors made the space feel heavy and dated. To refresh the room, we installed a stacked stone fireplace in light tones with a white frame and mantle, as well as gorgeous millwork detail for an added element of interest. The new art, furniture and decor in soft blue, green and natural tones speak to the beach cottage aesthetic our clients dreamt of. As for functionality, this room is right off the kitchen, so by mounting the TV to the fireplace, we enabled the clients to view their favorite programs while cooking dinner. Alternatively, they can relax in one of these super comfy swivel chairs while enjoying a movie and a cozy fire!” F R O M T H E C L I E N T : “The most fun part of the process for us was the reveal. To see what it was, and then what Blakely made of it, was really exciting. We were shocked at how much brighter the room was, and it turned out even better than what we were hoping for.” Blakely Interior Design To learn more about Blakely Interior Design, see page 12 | blakelyinteriordesign.com | 28    RHODE ISLAND MONTHLY’S NEST | 2020 @blakelyinteriordesign | @blakelyinteriordesign
