This lack of financial stablility has caused minor home repairs to become major and plague Lorain County’s home-bound senior community. Next Step Ministries, a national organization committed to helping students become a part of real change in the communities locally and internationally has partnered with Neighborhood Alliance. This partnership has been able to bring positive change to Lorain County’s senior community. Industry professionals were able to lead groups of young volunteers in various projects throughout Lorain County. These projects included re-roofing homes, building wheelchair ramps, making bathrooms handicap accessible, yard clean up, painting rooms and fixing/ replacing porches and countless smaller tasks. Next Step Ministries is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to helping students grow closer to Christ through a life-changing, one-week mission trip. Students work on challenging construction projects that are part of a larger Next Step Cause that focuses on producing real, long-term change in these communities. We work on these projects week after week, year after year, so students know they’re part of a real change. ced 2 Replafe Roofs sa Un it2 RebuPlorches Unsafe Volunteers serve throughout 10 weeks during the summer as an outreach to seniors, while making repairs so they may remain safe and healthy in their homes.
