The Red Top Tabloid - Front Cover and two pages (one related to front cover story, one not) 1) Find a red-top tabloid like The Sun, The Star and Daily Mirror. Choose which front cover and two pages you will use as a template. The secret is to have these with you ALL THE TIME (take a photo on your phone, scan just have more than one copy) and copy the design elements but make them your own. You cannot borrow anything, you must create from scratch. 2) You have to come up with a name for your newspaper: Some examples that have been used in the past are:     The Daily Herald The Daily Scoop The Daily Voice The Daily Standard 3) The key with this brief is to think of a story (for front cover) which interests you and you can take images easily for that do not involve actual celebrities etc:- 4)  Tabloid newspapers often work on sensational stories, your lead story, which will be continued inside, should be something you are willing to write about. Plus another shorter story or more o your other page.  Some suggestions could be around weather, sex, drugs, death, technology, sport, scandal and health and or murder. All very grim but typical for tabloid press content.. Often they use celebrities but you could make your own up and have a fake one.  Come up with a dramatic headlines: 1 in 4 Brits Obese, My Sex with a Royal, Social Media Addicts, Monster rat size of cow, Child Brides as Young as 12, Killer Hail Stone, Footballer Bedded 8 women in one night, be creative and think about what images you can reasonable get. Write the story first (on Microsoft word) - Times News Roman – this means you can then think about what images would best fit.
