Welcome to the nct York Branch Newsletter! In this issue we'll be looking at fitness in pregnancy and beyond and how to exercise safely. We also have some great feature articles from Yoga with Tamsin and Baby Swimmers (pg 12 and 46) as well a our regular features; birth story and meet a volunteer. We really hope you enjoy it!
Branch Update: In recent months our branch has reintroduced Baby and Child First Aid workshops in partnership with The British Red Cross. We have organised four workshops over two days - one in September and another in February which have enabled expectant parents, grandparents as well as professionals working with young people the chance to build their confidence and competence in dealing with situations in a relaxed and informative two and a half hour session. Our initial September workshops were very successful and in February we sold out so we will continue to organise these workshops quarterly. Please ensure you opt in to continue following York NCT on Facebook to be the first to know when our next courses can be booked!
We have been attending as many local events as we are able to cover and working with other local charities and businesses with similar goals to support local parents and are enjoying the growth of these relationships. We have welcomed some lovely new advertisers whose support is crucial to our local fundraising efforts and are preparing NCT goody bags which feature our advertisers fliers and some great offers for NCT members as well as some lovely miniature products from Childs Farm and Piccolo. We will be getting these goodies out to local NCT course and group attendees so look out for us!
We are always looking for new volunteers and anyone interested in getting involved would be very welcome to attend one of our branch meetings. We always meet on the second Tuesday of the month and alternate the times so we have evening meetings one month and day meetings the next in the hope of making them accessible. Babies and children are always welcome at our informal meet ups and meetings just let us know who is coming so we can choose appropriate venues.
