Gear-up Meeting February 7

Believe it or not, NBE is already in the process of planning for the 2017-18 school year! To help us prepare for the arrival of our newest Broncos we will be hosting a "Gear-up" meeting on Tuesday, February 7, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the NBE cafeteria. This is a parent only meeting. This meeting will begin the orientation process for next fall.
If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2017** (see revised state law below), and will be attending school this fall, please contact us by calling (810) 688-3042 right away so we can begin the enrollment process. A formal invitation will be sent to you for the meeting on February 7th.
**According to Michigan Law, if a child residing in North Branch is not five years of age on September 1, 2017 but will be five years of age no later than December 1, 2017, the parent of legal guardian may enroll the child in kindergarten for the 2017-18 school year if they notify the school district in writing. The child's enrollment form acts as notification.

Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
We hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable winter break! Students and
teachers are back into their daily routine getting down to the business of teaching
and learning. Staff are encouraging as much independence from their students as
possible in a grade appropriate manner.
For those parents who drop off students in the morning, you can assist us in
promoting independence by allowing your children to go to class on their own. As is
the case each day with our bus riders, students in all grades are successful in doing
so on a daily basis. With supervision from our safety patrol, paraprofessionals,
teachers and administrators, we are confident all kids will get to their destination in
a timely fashion.
