We will close the pre-conference with a networking lunch, giving YEOs an opportunity to
connect more informally with each other and with progressive partners and mentors.

Kimberly Ellis
Emerge California

Kimberly Ellis is the executive director of Emerge California. Prior to
Emerge California, Ellis was the national affiliate director at Emerge
America in their national headquarters. There Ellis was responsible for
launching new state programs and working with existing affiliates to increase and strengthen
program quality and growth. A 2007 Emerge California graduate, Ellis is personally
passionate about the organization’s mission of empowering women to step into political
power. She is committed to helping Emerge California bolster its brand and influence
as the program expands throughout the state. Ellis has worked in private industry, state
government, and the nonprofit sector. She has also served as a commissioner for the
Community Development Commission in the city of Richmond. Ellis has two children, one
husband, a dog, a turtle, and three goldfish, and holds a BA in English from Jacksonville
University and a JD from the John F. Kennedy School of Law.
