Kathryn Ramirez

Board of Education Vice President
Salinas, California
School Board Member Kathryn Ramirez began her career as a teacher
in Salinas, California, where she first realized the need to improve public
schools. In 2003, Ramirez was elected as a trustee for the Salinas Union High
School District. Now she serves as vice president of the board of education
for the Salinas Union High School District, secretary of the California Latino
School Board Association Board, region delegate to the California School Board Association,
and a board member of the Monterey County School Boards Association. Ramirez is currently
pursuing a master’s degree in public administration at Golden Gate University. @kathrynramirez

Andres Ramos

Community College Trustee
Compton, California
Trustee Andres Ramos was elected to the Compton Community College
District Board of Trustees for the first time in November 2007 at the age
of 22, making him the youngest Latino board member in the district’s
history. He is a native of Lynwood and is a product of the Lynwood Unified
School District. Ramos attended Long Beach City College and transferred to
the University of Southern California where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications.
Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in communication studies at California State University,
Los Angeles.

Dan Ramos

State Representative
Columbus, Ohio
Assistant Minority Whip Dan Ramos was elected to be an Ohio state
representative in 2010.Ramos is a graduate of Lorain Admiral King High
School and the Ohio State University. Prior to holding elected office, he
began his service as a legislative aide to then Representative Joseph F.
Koziura, and later worked as a senior policy and budget analyst under Minority
Leader Beatty and Speaker Budish. In addition to his work in the Ohio State House, Ramos has
also served as a caseworker at the Lorain County Department of Job and Family Services.
