Chairperson’s
Advisory Committee
The Chairperson is responsible for the governance of the Tribunal and oversees its operations.
The Tribunal reports through the Consumer and Corporate Regulation Division (CCRD) and
the Agency Management Unit (AMU) of the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) to the
Executive Authority, the Minister of Trade and Industry. The Chairperson’s Advisory Committee
and the Audit and Risk Committee are sub-committees advising the Chairperson on governance
matters. These committees operate by way of formal terms of reference. The Chief Executive
Offi cer reports to the Chairperson. The Tribunal acts in terms of a budget approved by the the dti.
The members of the Chairperson’s Advisory Committee (CAC) are the Chairperson, the Deputy
Chairperson and one other Tribunal member. During the year under review, Adv Frans Manamela
served as the Tribunal member on the CAC. The CEO attends meetings on invitation.
