If you had asked us earlier in the year, nobody in our offices could’ve predicted the way that COVID-19 would affect the entire world’s economy. Even after 2008’s recession, something to this scale was simply unfathomable. Yet, here we are. However, just like the years following the Great Recession, we feel the odds are in our industry’s favor. The stories that have developed out of this time have lent credence to the resilience and ingenuity the trailer industry has always shown. Though our members have faced incredibly dynamic, complex challenges, they have, as always, risen to meet them. Dealerships across the country have changed the way they’ve done business, not letting government mandates or societal factors slow down their daily operations. Dealerships such as 4 Corner Trailers, Brake Away Trailers & Auto Care LLC, Ozark Trailer Sales and Trailers of the East Coast have prioritized new facets of their businesses to maintain their relevance in their markets. Many companies, such as Circle G Trailers, have focused their efforts on helping those in need. From Better Life Technology’s anti-microbial flooring to Trailer Valet and Buyers Products Company’s series of donations, the entire industry is finding ways to alleviate the strains on the economy. As the country moves forward, we anticipate our industry’s involvement only growing. To get back on track, the construction and business sectors will once again be crucial to our economic development. Just as it always has, the trailer industry will be here to provide much-needed support to them. Our promise to you is this: we will do everything in our power to support your efforts. NATDA’s inspired intention will deliver new benefits and improvements to your membership. A rejuvenated effort in education and a reinvigorated trade show will connect you with the people that will help your business rebound and grow. The 2020 NATDA Trailer Show, which we’re confident will take place, will find new ways to ensure you, your dealership and your team will find success this year and beyond. Above all, though, the safety and health of our attendees and exhibitors is our top priority. We’ve already begun planning added precautions in conjunction with the Music City Center, our partner hotels and others to guarantee our event follows all proper guidelines and recommendations. Rest assured that the road for every dealership will not be easy; there are bound to be potholes along the way. This association, built with the help of dealerships like yours, will be here to help you in whatever way we can. 8 NATDA Magazine www.natda.org
