In 2021, what began as a small side project in Rhome, TX, selling trailers quickly took on a life of its own. Greg Roberts originally planned to sell a few trailers on the goat pen property next to his house to build a college savings fund for his son, but interest in his trailers grew faster than expected. He made the decision to leave his nine-to-five job and focus fully on the growing trailer dealership.
B-Tex Trailers officially became an LLC in 2022, although its reputation for being a trusted family-oriented business was forming long before. The name B-Tex reflects owner Greg’s commitment to his son, with the “B” initial representative of his son Brayden and the “Tex” representative of their location in Texas. In its early stages, the dealership operated from a front yard and then a muddy patch of land before eventually securing a prominent highway-front location in Rhome, TX, located outside of Fort Worth, with better visibility and access for customers.
The steady growth of B-Tex eventually led to the opening of a second location in Wichita Falls, near the Oklahoma border, marking a phase of growth and opportunity for the dealership. Greg often describes the experience as, "A journey that has continued to build momentum in ways he never originally expected."
Subtitle: A Family-Driven Business Built on Care
At every stage of business growth, family remains at the heart of B-Tex Trailers' operation. Greg's wife, Lindsay, manages the books while working nights for the railroad. Their children are hands-on contributors to operations at the dealership. "My son is eight and can hook up a trailer better than most of my employees. My daughter sells trailer stickers to people who walk in." Their presence is part of what makes B-Tex memorable to customers and keeps the business grounded in the values Greg prioritizes.
Greg explained that since the company is named after his son, it represents a promise he intends to carry on to his customers: "I have a responsibility to uphold my son's name." That commitment guides every interaction and shapes a dealership culture built on sincerity, dependability and genuine care.
Those values naturally extend to customer service. Greg operates on a straightforward philosophy: treat people the way you want to be treated. Whether assisting a first-time buyer or a returning customer, he approaches every interaction with patience and genuine attention. For him, trailer sales aren't simply transactions, but are opportunities to build trust, solve problems, and create relationships that last well beyond a single trailer purchase.
Serving Texas and Reaching Well Beyond
Although B-Tex regularly serves customers across Texas, the dealership's reach extends well beyond the state. Buyers regularly travel in from Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana and Colorado. Their customer base stretches even farther, with occasional long-distance trips from states as far away as Oregon. One recent buyer flew into Texas on a one-way ticket specifically to pick up a custom trailer and drive it home—a reflection of the trust and reputation B-Tex has earned among its customers.
Inventory, Custom Builds and Financing
B-Tex has grown into one of the largest carriers of Horizon trailers in the country. The dealership also supports a steady flow of custom builds, ranging from ice machine units to farrier trailers designed to keep farm and agriculture professionals working even when their main truck is down, along with a variety of specialty solutions tailored to each customer's unique needs. The team approaches every custom project with a practical, problem-solving mindset, working to deliver the configuration that aligns best with how each customer plans to use it.
Easy customer financing also plays a significant role in the dealership's success. Last year, B-Tex sold approximately 350 trailers, with financing giving buyers the flexibility they needed to complete their transactions. The dealership works with several NATDA member companies, including Rock Solid Funding, to offer customers quick approvals and a smooth, efficient buying experience.
The Connection Value of NATDA Membership
As the dealership has grown over the last year, B-Tex re-joined NATDA to expand its network and strengthen relationships within the industry. NATDA membership has already given Greg new lines of communication with other dealers and vendors, giving him more ways to share ideas, compare experiences and discover better ways to serve customers. Greg plans to attend the NATDA Trailer Show, noting the valuable opportunity to continue learning, connect with peers and stay current on trends shaping the trailer industry.
Greg sees collaboration as one of the keys to long-term success. "The more friends you make in this business, the better," he says. "You never know when you'll need something another dealer has and helping each other out strengthens everyone."
