GUERRERO, fuap, apec ar., assoc. aia, green ap He is the Managing Partner of Asian Architects, a firm established in 1985, that continues to deliver institutional and hospitality buildings, striving to harness appropriate technology to arrive at climate-sensitive, innovative and sustainable design solutions. A passionate advocate of sustainability, he is the Chairman of the Green Architecture Advocacy Philippines, a civic non-profit organization that promotes sustainability for all. He is a Fellow of the United Architects of the Philippines and one of the first twelve APEC Architects in the Philippines. A frequent resource person and mentor, he generously shares knowledge and experience of professionalism and sustainability with others, with the hope of making the world a better place to live in 25. AR. 82 AR. CORAZON F. TANDOC, fuap TEOFILO I. VASQUEZ, fuap, apec ar. Ar. Vasquez is an innovator, inventor, artist, manager, teacher, thinker and philosopher. These are what make up the modern architect. Ar. Vasquez has shown his commitment to excellence in an architectural practice that spans over 30 yrs. His noteworthy designs and reputation speak well of what he has managed to build up over time. At present, he is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of his own company, the TI Vasquez Architects and Planners, Inc. located at Makati and with branch office on the country’s Queen City of the South, Cebu City. He was President, from 2005-2006 of the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), National District Director, 20122013 of the UAP, Director for National Social Advocacy from 2012-2015 and Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals, National Office. The overriding principle of Architect Topy Vasquez is “Adding Value to Life through Architecture that is Responsive to Man and His Environment”. Ar. Tandoc is a graduate of Mapua Institute of Technology, School of Architecture and Planning, obtained masteral units in Management Engineering at the University of Pangasinan and took training courses in Hospital Planning, Green Architecture and Fire Protection. Ar. Tandoc is a charter member of the United Architects of the Philippines, one of the “Founding Father of UAP”, Fellow of the UAP College of Fellows, Past Chancellor and currently the Vice President for Area A. 24. AR. JOSE SIAO LING, fuap, apec ar. Ar. Siao Ling is considered as a modern icon of Philippine Contemporary Architecture and a leading advocate of post modernism evidenced by his numerous landmark architecture in the country. He leads Jose Siao Ling and Associates with strict adherence to professional practice, never failing to remind his staff that earning money comes second to keeping the client’s trust. A consistent recipient of the top ten architectural firms award for the last decade, Ar. Ling never compromises quality for profit. This idealism is his key to sustaining excellence in his craft meriting him the conferment by the Professional Regulation Commission as the Most Outstanding Professional in the field of architecture in 2004 and by the University of Santo Tomas as the Outstanding Tomasian of the year in 2007 in Architecture. 26. ROBERT MIRAFUENTE, fuap He initially studied architecture at the Southern California Institute of Architecture, USA, then graduated with a bachelor of science in Architecture from the University of Santo Tomas, and finally had his master’s degree at the University of Sydney in Australia. Since then, he has worked in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, and the Philippines. He has contributed many years of service to several professional organizations, that include Charter President of the Architects Alumni Association Batch ’83 of UST, Past President of the UAP Fort Bonifacio Chapter, Conference Director of the 31st UAP National Convention and the 1st Construction Exhibition and Conference Director of the Green Forum in the years 2004, 2007, and 2013. Ar. Mirafuente is one of the pioneers in the practice of green architecture in the Philippines. He helped found advocacy organizations such as the Green Architecture Movement of the United Architects of the Philippines in 2002, and the Green Architecture Advocacy Philippines in 2009.
