the raison d'être of the 'NOMADS' - through golf, the
remembrance of others.
It is printed in the renowned extract from the Meditations

Dear Nomads
My first game as Captain of Natal Nomads surpassed all my expectations! Driving out of
Durban I thought to myself, if the weather at Victoria was half as good as Durban was we
were in for a glorious day…I really didn’t expect it to be better, let alone perfect. I had the
pleasure of playing my round with the Captain of VCC, Andrew Walker, visiting Southern
Natal Nomad, Dave Eaton, and my friend and guest, Bevan Manson. Thank you for the
awesome company Gents, the bragging rights of being the Playing Fourball of the day and
having the A and B division winners in our Fourball!
I would like to commend VCC, their course is in exceptional condition! With not a breath
of wind to defend the course, it was still a very good test of golf and in my humble opinion
the greens are amongst the best in KZN. The service from all the staff was great, the beers
were ice cold and the pizzas we managed to convince the staff to make us later that
evening were fantastic.
The only special award for the game was a 350 Game badge for Pat Smythe.
