The Smithgall Arts Center (part of the Arts Council) is located in a beautifully restored 1914 railroad depot, one of Gainesville’s most cherished historic properties. Our Atrium Gallery features rotating art exhibitions throughout the year, showcasing local and regional artists and providing the community with opportunities to experience the arts in a welcoming, historic setting.

Stanley W. Hayes Research Foundation, Hayes Arboretum is 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to provide nature and recreation-related education through instruction, experiences, and amenities. We offer free access to our Nature Center, outdoor Nature Playscape, and 16 miles of trails through our 466 acres of new and old growth forest, wetlands, and prairies. We also offer low- to no
cost educational seasonal programming for youth, individuals, and families, in a variety of topics and formats.

The Mission of the Floyd County Historical Society is to keep alive an active interest in Floyd County history by collecting, preserving, and interpreting materials relating to Floyd County. In addition to preserving area history, the Floyd County Museum is the largest repository for Hart-Parr, Oliver, and White Farm Equipment. As such, the museum boasts a
wide array of documentation and materials from the corporate files of Hart-Parr, Oliver, Minneapolis Moline, Cockshutt, and White tractor corporations. This huge collection holds manuals, build information, and more relating to farm implements produced in the 20th century by these companies. These materials are available for purchase by contacting the museum either by phone or email. A full catalog of offerings is also available on the museum website.
