Rancho Los Cerritos (RLC) is a National, State, and Local Historic Landmark on 4.7 acres in Long Beach, California. The site's history spans more than 5,000 years, from its origins as ancestral Tongva land to its evolution into one of the largest ranchos in Southern California. The 182-year-old Monterey-style adobe is surrounded by historic gardens featuring a massive Moreton Bay fig and a nearly 175-year-old cypress, both original to the site.
RLC offers docent-led tours, rotating exhibitions, monthly bird walks, community garden and house tours, and educational programming. Our fourth-grade program, Adelante: The People of Rancho Los Cerritos, serves nearly 5,000 students annually, the majority from Title I schools. We are committed to honoring the diverse voices that have shaped this land and making its history accessible to all.
