Paul WOOLSTON
Young goalkeeper who joined the Spartans back in November on loan from Newcastle United. The 18- year old, who enjoyed a month’ s loan at Vanarama National League North side Darlington 1883 earlier this season, helped England’ s U17s reach the quarter finals of the 2015 U17 European Championships.
Richard PELL
Part of the Spartans’ historic FA Cup run squad of 2008 / 09, the veteran centreback returns for a third stint in Northumberland. Ex- Alfreton Town, Harrogate Town and Whitby Town.
midfielders
Matty PATTISON
The NUFC academy graduate is one of the division’ s biggest coups. The 29- year-old South African midfielder made over fifty appearances for Norwich City, and was most recently a key figure at Gateshead. Has played for his country on five occasions.
defenders
Andrew CARTWRIGHT
Another former member of the SAFC academy, Andrew joined in August 2015, having turned out regularly at right-back for the Black Cats’ under-21 side. A good all-round performer, he is the son of former Blyth legend Peter Cartwright.
Ryan HUTCHINSON
A promising centre-half, the versatile defender is enjoying his second spell at Croft Park. Has previously been at Celtic, Motherwell, Morpeth Town and St. Johnstone. Made his Spartans’ debut back in April 2014 against Matlock Town.
Neil HOOKS
A classy operator in the middle of the park, Neal was a key cog in the Spennymoor Town midfield before returning to Croft Park, where he was Player’ s Player of the Year in 2010 / 11. Hooks started his professional career at SPL outfit Ross County and has also played for Newcastle Blue Star.
Nathan BUDDLE
Back for a second stint after impressing in the club’ s FA Cup run. Nathan was snapped up by Carlisle United before later moving to Gateshead. Buddle began his senior career with Hartlepool United before being released at the end of the 2012 – 13 season.
