When planning your island getaway, cast
aside pre-existing notions of surreal expenses
and unattainable dreams. Nantucket is too
often touted as a getaway for the “glittering”
set; in truth, the Faraway Island beckons one
and all to her shores, offering abundant
opportunities to savor her enduring beauty.

Although Nantucket is renowned for its
four-star restaurants, reasonably priced – and
delectable – takeout options abound, from
breakfast items, seafood and clambakes to
sandwiches, ice cream, coffee and more.
With stunning natural beauty as far as the eye
can see, there are venues aplenty to relax
and enjoy your meal.
The island’s smooth terrain is coveted by
bikers and runners alike. With 32+ miles of
designated paths, biking on Nantucket is
pure bliss for cyclists. Explore the quaint
village of ‘Sconset, and be sure to pedal out
to Madaket at dusk to experience a
breathtaking sunset. An array of outdoor
activities accommodate any age group or
whim – fishing, sailing, tennis, golf, kayaking,
birding, disc golf, and more. There’s even a
state-of-the-art skateboard park and (indoor)
ice rink!
To experience all Nantucket has to offer, a
day trip barely scratches the surface.
Accommodations can be pricey during high
season, but discounted rates are available in
the off-season. If you’re bringing a group,
consider renting a house or cottage as a
cost-saving alternative. The island’s “Star of
the Sea” hostel is a hidden gem. Built as a
lifesaving station in 1873, this historic
property sits directly across from Surfside
beach, offering both dorm-style and private
lodging at attractive prices.
