The following Sustainable Nantucket events showcase local food and
community:
Sustainable Nantucket Farmers & Artisans Market (Saturdays, June 11 – October 15)
To support the local economy, this special community experience with a “street festival”
atmosphere is held in the Downtown. Vendors – including growers, artisans and prepared food
purveyors – are all year-round or seasonal residents, and all goods available for purchase are
made on Nantucket. Also, look for the Mid-Island ‘Growers Only’ Market offered on Wednesday
evenings!
Farm Fresh Feast (July 30) Held amidst the farm fields under the stars, the ambiance of
this mid-summer event is truly magical. One of the island’s most eagerly anticipated events, it
features a cocktail party, locally-sourced gourmet dinner, auctions, live music and dancing. In
2016, the Farm Fresh Feast will be held at Sustainable Nantucket’s own incubator farm site, the
Walter F. Ballinger Educational Community Farm.
NantucketGrown™ Dinner Series (Fall) These popular monthly events are hosted by
featured NantucketGrown™ restaurants from September to December as a benefit for
Sustainable Nantucket. The hosting chefs create special one-night menus using locally-sourced
ingredients.
NantucketGrown™ Foodie Weekend (October 14-16) This new festival of events will
celebrate Nantucket’s local food by partnering island chefs with farmers, fishermen and other
food providers. Activities include chef demos, farm tours, hands-on harvesting activities, and
more!
Tickets and more information for all listed events can be found at: www.sustainablenantucket.org.
