My mother and I would dye eggs each year. Sometimes she’d include my good
friend. My grandmother wasn’t a person who was big on holidays, but every
year she’d make me a basket. I’d look forward to receiving the Nilla Wafers and
clear ‘lipsticks’ she’d include in the basket each year. Of course, there was also a
frilly dress and church, too, but the highlights of the holidays was the time spent
with my mom...and the lipstick! -
