After starting her organic home garden, Leigh Lopez, founder and chief kitchen
goddess created The Raw Scientist blog, Twitter and Facebook pages to chronicle
her passion for farming and culinary raw food adventures while sharing her love
of exploring and nurturing a holistic lifestyle. A graduate of Matthew Kenney
Culinary Academy, Leigh was able to use the fundamentals learnt , to create the
delicious treats she made for herself using the Caribbean’s vast array of fruits and
veggies. Working her magic with photography, she shared many photos via her
social media accounts.
They soon became extremely popular with friends and family that she began
receiving messages from persons interested in purchasing vegetables she grew
herself in her home garden and her raw food items, she finally decided to share
the goodness, and after a brainstorming session, the humble beginnings of Go
Nakd started!
Go Nākd - A small startup with a big mission. Leigh says “ I want Go Nākd to be
an inspiration to my family first, but ultimately to everyone. I have found since my
children have started engaging in garden-based learning they perform better on
science sections of tests, consume a wider variety of fruits and vegetables and are
more environmentally aware.”
It is Leigh’s hope Go Nākd can help change the way we eat in the Caribbean. She
also wants to bridge the gap between healthy food and tasty food, making healthy
eating enjoyable and thereby empowering people to create a more conscious
