Even more ways to give in 2021
It ’ s no surprise that as the coronavirus pandemic ravaged the world and shut down businesses and schools , U . S . -based nonprofits of all sizes saw a significant drop in donations during much of 2020 . Smaller nonprofits felt it the most , experiencing a 17 % decline compared to the second and third quarters of 2019 .
Despite the many challenges impacting all of us last year , the resilient and generous NAILBA community managed to raise over $ 200,000 for the NAILBA Charitable Foundation . You recognized the importance of continuing to give and made certain that many well-serving charities continued to receive our help .
In a year when the Foundation , like other non-profits across the world , was unable to hold traditional fundraising events at our live conference , it was a challenge to keep our fundraising levels consistent with recent past years . Additionally , the impact of COVID-19 continues to be felt in NAILBA communities , especially for those whose “ normal ” was challenging enough before the pandemic hit .
In response , the NAILBA Charitable Foundation is fiercely committed to helping more non-profit organizations in the NAILBA community in 2021 than ever before . To date , we have awarded over $ 3 million in grants — all in NAILBA communities — and remain dedicated to providing funds to well-run causes that may not otherwise have access to additional funding .
To make this year our most successful fundraising year yet , we ’ ve introduced more ways to give than ever before . With enticements and contests like ticket giveaways and exclusive NAILBA Charitable Foundation swag packs , we ’ ve made giving even sweeter .
Plus , we are bringing back Casino Night and The NAILBA Classic Charity Golf Tournament to our NAILBA 40 annual event in November of this year . At the Orlando event , we ’ ll host everyone ’ s favorite live auction ( African safari anyone ?) as well as hold a separate silent auction with sports and entertainment memorabilia galore for the highest bidders .
We ’ ve already seen the NAILBA community step up and show tremendous excitement and support , and we know this is a harbinger of a strong finish to 2021 .
We like to say that the NAILBA Charitable Foundation is where altruism meets the business of NAILBA . I hope that through your contributions and participation , we can continue to be an example of how great things happen when philanthropy and business work hand in hand to help to improve the lives of those less fortunate .
