Australia Day celebrations take place in towns and cities , big and small , right across this great country providing Australians of all ages and from all walks of life the opportunity to come together to celebrate our national identity . Depending on what part of Queensland you call home , we will tell you our TOP what is happening on a Australia Day in your town or city .

What to bring
Most of the Australia Day Queensland events are held outdoors . To make sure you are prepared for the day we have put together a little checklist on what to bring for you . Sunscreen and insect repellent Sun hat , Appropriate clothing for outdoor events , Water bottle – refill station available at most locations and a Picnic rug . Most events will have food and beverages available for purchase . Feel free to bring your own picnic for events run by most local councils .

Australia Day Fireworks
Whats Australia Day without Fireworks ? So our Top suggestion is to Head to South Bank Parklands this Australia Day for a stunning firework show at 7:30pm ! Entry is free and the best vantage point is the Clem Jone Promenade . In the lead up to the event , make sure you also pop over to River Quay for live music and gourmet eats at Great Australian Bites . Please note that South Bank ’ s Australia Day fireworks are an alcohol-free event .
