Heat Stress is a common occurence during Australia's hot summers. Heat stress (or heat stroke) occurs when animals are unable to regulate their core body temperture.
All pets can be affected by heat stress. However, dogs with short noses, such as the bulldog, pug and boxer, are particularly at risk.
Heat stroke is a potentially life threatening condition and pet owners need to keep weather conditions in mind when leaving their pets alone during summer.

Lack of conditioning or not being used to being outside.
Medications such as diuretics.
