Visit to American Corner in Kragujevac
n Friday 29th twenty-five students from the
classes I-9 and I-10 along with their English teachers Biljana Gromovic and Jelena Novitovic visited The American Corner in Kragujevac. Students were greeted by an English Language Fellow- Ms. Beth Wendt and a Public Affairs Officer Timothy Standaert. Miss Beth Wendt originally comes from Wisconsin but now lives in North Carolina. The subject of the gathering was one of the most celebrated holidays in America-Thanksgiving Day. Ms. Beth Wendt was amazed when she heard how much students knew about the holiday. She told us about her family's Thanksgiving traditions. After that Ms.Beth Wendt raised a question: ”What are you grateful for ?”
The Students said that they were grateful for their health, roof above their heads, water, food and most importantly, their families. She said that she had had a great time having us in the American corner and promised that she would come to Gimnazija in December. One of the students from the class I-9 Danica Komatovic did an interview with Ms.Beth Wendt.
