Ramp lab
Why this experiment? This lab will deal with forces that are accelerating or are unbalanced.
Velocity: An object's speed and change of direction. Acceleration: The rate of change of the velocity with a gain of speed within a short time.
Purpose: To find the how the change of slopes or height of ramp can affect the velocity. With this, find a mathematical and graphical relationship between velocity and time.
Independent Variable: Time
Steps:
1. Create the ramp using a metal stick, buggy, pile of books, and motion sensor
2. Place laptop open on Logger Pro across of the ramp
3. Placed the buggy on the track
4. Let go of the buggy when it was on top
5. Record the buggy going downhill until its out of frame
Velocity: the speed of something in a given direction.
Acceleration: a vehicle's capacity to gain speed within a short time.
