The ministry of utmost happiness is a novel which binds
together a series of tragic events that have occurred in
the history of modern India. This includes land reforms 
which adversely affected the poor, Godhra train burning
incident and the Kashmir insurgency. The tale of these
events are described as seen through the eyes of a
transgender woman named Anjum and Tilo- a young
architect.
