Glögg Holiday Mixer
During the Christmas season it is a tradition in Sweden to welcome people who come to see you with a warm cup of glögg. Glögg in English is called mulled wine and it is made of red wine or white wine along with various mulling spices. It is also popular to add raisins and almonds. Glögg is served hot, often together with lussebullar, which is a sweet bun with taste of Saffron and raisins.
On December 1, 2016 the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of Philadelphia invited members and non-members to our annual Glögg Holiday Mixer. We wished to celebrate that another successful year has passed and that we have a nice holiday season ahead of us. Around 40 guests gathered at Bistro Romano, an Italian restaurant in Old City, for an evening of networking and festivities. The guests enjoyed warm Glögg, homemade by Britt Apell and a variety of hors d’ oeuvres such as cheese, meatballs, pasta, grilled vegetable and more. Dessert of gingerbread cookies and chocolate was served. The evening ended with a raffle and an auction on several amazing prices from our sponsors including an overnight stay at Club Quarters Hotel, a signed ice hockey club by Michael Raffl(# 12) of the Flyers, a bowl from Orrefors and much more.
For the seventh consecutive year, SACC-Philadelphia presented its annual Business Entrepreneurial Award. This award is for an individual or a company who has made a significant contribution to the exchange of trade and commerce between the Scandinavian and the Philadelphia Region. This year’ s recipient was Larsson & Scheuritzel Law firm for their leadership in the area of innovative energy technologies such as helping clients successfully negotiate solar PV energy.
