THE ASAP BEEHIVE

Thousand Splendid Stars …………………………..
Dr. K. P. Jaikiran
Head, Curriculum Design ASAP & Programme Director FLAIR
Summer is the time when bees go around gathering maximum nectar to raise their honey stock for the winter months. The ASAP honey comb too buzzed with activity during the summer of 2013 with the team members going out to gather talent for its skill training of the coming years. And it turned out to be one of the greatest team building exercises ever seen by ASAP. The honey comb was at its best during the Summer of 2013.
Logistics of training was one of the greatest challenges faced during the early days. Significant among them was finding and equipping enough Communicative English Trainers who can facilitate ASAP classes in schools and colleges. Though an initial number of them could be sourced from the open market through a formal recruitment process, the rising demand for more numbers in the coming years of growth worried ASAP. Every problem has in it a solution, if not many, is what the team has found through its regular brainstorming evening meetings in Dr. K. M. Abraham’ s( then Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Govt. of Kerala) office in the Secretariat Annex.
