RETAIL SECTOR
The Retail sector offered six courses in Regular and one in the Summer Skill Skool mode during the year 2014-15. Since there are a few courses specific to this sector most of the employees are being recruited from other disciplines due to the high employment potential. The condition is more alarming in the unorganized sector where the manpower is not equipped with even the basic level of retail specific and customer service skills. A cohesive effort to develop skills within the sector can have a significant potential impact on productivity and competitiveness, both within the sector and on the wider economy. Sector has offered placements and internships to students who have successfully completed the courses in firms like Max Retail Pvt Ltd, Thrissur and Joy Alukkas, Kottayam.
