ENTREPRENEURSHIP complete a task at hand. So even if the client or anyone else hasn’t set a deadline, you will do it now for every milestone you have set. This way, you will always know what has to be accomplished every day and if it’s not accomplished, it will be carried over to the next day. In order to keep things simple, the more stringent you are on the deadline, the more likely you will accomplish it! The more comfort you seek in your deadlines, the more likely you will procrastinate more!!! So get strict with yourself, become your own boss and fix deadlines that are stringent but achievable. Now get going, fix you have only 6 more days to get rid of procrastination! Day 3: Draw a week’s schedule Now you have the milestones and goals with you, let’s get into action! Take a paper and prepare the schedule for the week with the milestones and deadlines in hand. Leave space to mark the status every day and remarks. Stick it on your desk so that it will keep reminding you of the imminent deadlines. It should boost your desire to accomplish them before time so that you can enjoy the free time till you need to start working on the next milestone. This week’s schedule is already on! y – Day 4: Get someone to partner Even if you don’t need a partner to accomplish your task, get someone who’s strict enough to keep a check on you on the deadlines. This will make you accountable to the partner and ensure that you accomplish it at least to avoid a confrontation! Call up your best friend who would be your worst critique to partner! Day 5: Encounter the Unknown! Fear can pep up even the laziest person! How do you build fear then, to your advantage? Chalk down the repercussions of procrastinating for a year. Did you realize how bad the situation could be? That should give you the jitters to kick out procrastination and start working on the tasks at hand ASAP! Day 6: Assess Your Work Daily Unless you look back at every day, initially, and make notes on how you managed/didn’t on that day’s target, you won’t be able to understand the pace and direction in which you are going. To progress positively, even if slowly, sit down to assess the day’s work and note down the learnings on the chart. This will give you a clear idea of what’s going right and where you need to work better and motivate you to do better the next day. This will take up some time, but if you really want to get over procrastination, you better get doing it. Once you realize that your progress is on par with your expectations and deadlines, you can make mental notes instead of writing them down. By that time, you would get rid of this niggling bug called procrastination. How did this day go? Day – 7: Kickstart and Get Going! On this day, you will use all the energy and information you have collected and created over the last 6 days and start working on your second milestone. What happened to your first? Well, your first target was to stop procrastinating and you have already achieved it! Now you can tick that out and start working on the very next task at hand and get going. Bye bye procrastination, welcome productivity! THE DREAM BOX 10
