Role:: Concept artist for Ed
I was approached by a film student to help create a concept art for a TV murder scripts. This was
the first time concepting for a TV series therefore I did research into understanding film concept to
see whether it differed. Inspired by the Wizard of Oz the murders were split amongst me and Alice.
After looking at the power of colour in my research seen on my collaboration tab on my blog, I chose
to play with a much brighter set of colours. This refreshing palette played a different feeling than dark
colour. liked the paradox of using bright colours for a dark scene which also played on The Wizard of
Oz colours. This collaboration was really useful, it pushed me to hit deadlines and work collaboratively
with another discipline other than Animation. I used watercolour, informed my own FMP. I am really
grateful in doing this research for Ed’s project because the researched inspired my own working. The final
pieces exceeded what I expected. I played with the power of colour and how the eye is drawn to
specific elements. I was organised and was able to hellp someone visualise their idea allowing me to hit
my objective target.
