The stutter is represented in the work Waiting to write about waiting— see below, in red.

I have noticed that at times when I discuss with others the fact that the work has become stuck and does not seem to be moving forward I refer to this situation as“ having lost my thread or I am waiting to catch my thread again”. Paul Harrison in his essay The broken thread explains how the thread, making reference to Ariadne ' s thread that helped Theseus come out the Minotaur’ s labyrinth,“ gives direction, continuity, telos”.( Harrison in Bissell and Fuller, 2011, 209) When the thread is broken, one becomes lost and as a consequence stuck, still. The stillness that ensues in this situation is as Harrison puts it“ Akin to passivity, indolence, idiocy and stupidity”.( Harrison in Bissell and Fuller, 2011, 209) and a source of fear and anxiety. t
