The
Awakening
Feminism
In
China
China has a deeply rooted culture that emphasizes men more than
women. Along with the ripple of this culture, many women and
men have formed the mindsets that the male-dominant society
cannot be changed. While the society in China is ameliorating,
people are starting to accept the idea of feminism and recognizing
stereotypes about women. They are more willing to listen to
feminists and share their perspectives with them. I interviewed two
beautiful women in China, who both hold unique feminist ideas
about how Chinese culture has influenced what they think.

Feminism reminds me of malelism. It’s like
a Chinese character “Ren,” which means
“people .” The character has got two strokes.
In my opinion, people have strength and
weakness as well, so we need support, care,
and help from others. At the same time,
the two strokes act like acting force towards
reacting force to keep balance, building a
relatively balanced society is human beings’
ultimate aim. We have been striving. It’s
common sense that feminism has been
overwhelmed by malelism.
